Eligibility
U. S. citizens who are outstanding science, mathematics or engineering
majors (classified as juniors or seniors by August, 2002) at the University
of Houston, Central and Downtown campuses or Rice University.
Three part, 12-month program: May 13, 2002 - May 12, 2003
Financial Benefit
Undergraduate students selected as NSF GK-12 Fellows will receive
a total stipend of $10,000 over the 12 months of the program.
Rice University Course Credit
Fellows also receive a total of 9 hours of undergraduate course credit
(tuition and fees waived, excluding health insurance) from Rice University
for the Special Projects: Issues in Science and Mathematics Education
course which is part of the NSF GK-12 Fellows Program.
Student Commitment
Fellows must participate in the entire 12-month program (average 15
hours/week).
